About Louise
Louise has over 20 years’ experience working in both forensic and clinical contexts, and is in full time private practice.
She has worked for HM Prison Service in the UK, and Ara Poutama (Dept. of Corrections) and Wellington Clinical Services (Oranga Tamariki) in NZ.
Louise has significant experience in providing clear, concise, and evidence-based reports to the Courts, New Zealand Parole Board, and other relevant services on matters including risk, supervision, management, and treatment recommendations.
Alongside this, Louise has also provided expert witness testimony relating to her forensic psychological assessments.
Louise is skilled in utilising therapeutic approaches with a range of client groups (predominantly adults), including providing offence focused group and individual treatment.
She has also provided supervision to psychologists and other allied health professionals.
Louise has delivered training and workshops on a range of topics, and has provided guest lectures at Victoria University of Wellington.
She has also worked in roles involving clinical oversight and providing consultation to other professionals to ensure high quality services are delivered.
Louise now specialises in psychological assessment, for a variety of organisations, individuals and legal proceedings, including defence counsel, ACC sensitive claims service (Specialist Cover Assessments), and Te Whatu Ora (Health New Zealand). Louise is designated as a Specialist Assessor for the purpose of the Intellectual Disability (Compulsory Care and Rehabilitation) Act, 2003. Louise is a member of the New Zealand Psychological Society.
Locations
Louise is based in Christchurch, NZ, and is available for travel regionally and nationally. She also uses telehealth.
